There appears to be an easily observed phenomenon in the way nature functions that if not understood or realized what it is, can lead to a theory, belief, or attempt to explain what it is with the idea "God", or "a divine intelligence planning creation, and then guiding the overall functioning of being".
The noticing or realizing of the phenomenon I imagine was similar to the way it probably felt about 450 years ago (1543, De Revolutionibus, Copernicus) when the idea began to be experimented with that the Earth is rotating to explain what appears to be the forward and backward appearing motion of the planets and rotation of the heavens without ideas such as epicycles if it is imagined that the universe is rotating instead of the Earth rotating (geocentric astronomy).
The essence of the explanation of "what is God?" is that when a human sensory and data processing system produces the sensation of detecting repeating events, the emotional title attached to such a sensation is "I am detecting or observing intelligence".
A crucial question then arises for atheists. It is, is "repeating events" any less an indication of "intelligence" if it takes place on a universe scale, than if it takes place on the scale of the parents of a baby endeavoring to decide if their baby is showing signs of being "intelligent"? (demonstrating repeating events phenomena, such as beginning to repeat the sounds of a spoken language).
The rest of suggesting that repeating events is what leads to a human emotional sensation of feeling an "intelligence" is being detected or responded to (God if on a universe scale, a child intelligent if experienced on a human child level) consists of examining and coming to understand in more detail what the properties are both specific and implied of "resonation phenomena", that is to say 52 repeating events phenomena in a range of angstrom units at one end of a repeating events difference arrangement, to billions of earth years at the other end of a repeating events difference arrangement.
Examples of "repeating events difference arranging" from larger to smaller by various criteria can be observed as the phenomenon called "the electromagnetic spectrum", portions of which are conditions such as a rainbow or light spectrum, radio and television broadcasting and receiving, heat, ultra violet light, or in general "electromagnetic resonation".
Extending the idea "resonation" to repeating events beyond what is currently considered to be the electromagnetic spectrum embraces repeating events on the order of minutes, hours, days, years, thousands of years, and millions or billions of years between event repetitions.
"Gravity" and "electromagnetic fields" with their characteristic of attraction inversely proportional to the square of the distance between gravitational or electromagnetic entities has an overall characteristic of difference arrangement from larger to smaller (attraction).
Now we get to human actions. As ubiquitous or subtle as whether the universe is rotating around the Earth, or the Earth rotating, in observing human actions one can be overwhelmed by the realization that one is constantly observing "repeating events difference arranging" in a multitude of forms.
Take for example these words you are reading. Each arrangement of letters on a printed page or computer screen that a human calls a "word", that imparts a meaning of some kind, has "meaning" because it is an event that has been repeated so often in a person's life or data processor that is one's brain, that the illusion happens of each "word" seen, heard, or spoken, seeming to be instantly arranged into a larger arrangement (or difference arrangement) that is the whole context of a discussion, and which, watch out for this one, is evaluated by a human thinking and reasoning process as evidence of "intelligence" by whoever or whatever caused sequences of repeating events to be placed on printed pages or on a computer screen.
A repeatedly observed phenomenon by humans who have become parents, is observing the progress of the maturing of one's baby to determine if it is showing signs of "intelligence", such as, consider this in a frame of reference of observing repeating events phenomena, when it starts repeating the events of the language sounds of its parents, (learning to speak), when it can accomplish a successful repeating of events consisting first of repeatedly placing hands and knees in positions to crawl, then repeating the event of placing feet in such a way that one learns how to walk. As one's child matures and becomes a student in school, the "intelligence" of a child is measured by how many events (answers to test questions) can be successfully repeated, that have been repeated over and over by previous students in school classes.
Examining human innovation, creation, "productive work", once again we see a process of "intelligence" judged by the extent to which events can be repeated, or well known repetitions or events arranged in new kinds of difference arrangements.
An example is Tesla arranging Edison's direct current by a different difference arranging criterion that is called alternating current. Humans building heavier that air flying machines, and then rockets that can orbit the Earth or be sent on ballistic trajectories to fly by other planets in the Earth's solar systems consist of combining known and identifiable repeating events such as repeating the actions that produce the materials out of which such devices are constructed, repeating the events of the mathematical calculations that determine what events to repeat to accomplish production, launching, and navigating of such devices.
The computers used in such calculations ranging from slide rules, to mechanical or electronic adding and subtracting devices, or state of the art computers all embody as their central device or "operating system" variations on "repeating events difference arranging" such as 0 to 9, or A to Z, as ranges of differences to arrange.
It can be observed that assembling repeated events into entities not the result of human actions (as with inventions by humans) is the basic process also taking place throughout all of the rest of being. In fact one might even go so far as to speculate that humans act if they are an image of, that is to say accomplish creation, in the same way as the rest of being. Or more succinctly if you do not know for certain what you seem to be sensing intuitively, "humans are created in the image of God".
As a simple mechanical process either by "the universe", "by God", "the processes of nature" or the reflection, copy, or "image" of such processes taking place as a humans "creating", it can be seen is adding differences to difference arrangements, testing the added differences to see if the resulting difference arrangement has the same, more, or less (resonate to or with) level of effectability.
It is "creation" (the purpose of the process and of being) if the same as or higher level of effectability is measured. Record or "memory" the measured result. How do you "memory" the prior choice difference arrangement to "create" a human being? Answer DNA.
Correct difference arranging mistakes if lower "memory" of level of effectability (destruction) is measured.
Adding more and more differences to difference arrangements results in the diversity of conditions found throughout the universe and on the Earth, whether done by "God" or knockoffs, copies, or "images" of how creation takes place throughout the universe such as by "humans".
The preceding has simply been clarification and detailing of the beginning statement of this suggestion "an easily observed phenomenon". The easily observed phenomenon is "repeating events difference arranging".
Assemble the implications of "difference arranging" into a coherent theory of the basic nature of being that does not require mysterious unexplainable or untestable elements

A reply or reaction to what has been said so far by a cynical atheist might very well be, "so what". "All you have done is point out the atheistical totally obvious. What has any of what you have said so far got to do with whether there is such a condition or phenomenon as "God", and/or "divine intelligence planning and guiding creation, or any of the B. S. on which religious believing is supposedly founded?"
The reply to such a cynical or atheism based attitude succinctly (like, imagine the Earth rotating instead of the universe rotating) is the rhetorical question "Is repeating events difference arranging any less a sign of "intelligence" if observed or sensed intuitively on a universe level, than on a level of an individual human baby showing emerging signs of "intelligence"?" "Humans created in the image of God" takes on a whole new testable meaning.
To which a cynical reply might still be, "so what?". "All you have done is play word games with the totally obvious to suggest an alternative "viewpoint" about excuses people try to use to explain their "bad luck", or "being punished by God for sinning", or that it is useless to try to make life better by understanding how being works because everything is planned by God and no one can do anything about that, etc. etc.
What you have said so far has not shown how to solve any real life problems. Arguing over word meanings, or substituting one word for another is not considered solving a real life problem from an atheistic point of view.
What if anything can your suggestion of "repeating events difference arranging" whether on a human baby to student in school level, or on a universe level propose as a testable solution to real life human problems. Where is something such as transmitting high voltage alternating current more efficiently than high amperage direct current?"
The reply to that question of this suggestion is, use the basic structure of graduated magnitudes difference arranging (the way the rest of the universe works, or the principle on which the rest of the universe is designed), as a model for relating the elements of a human business procedure to each other, and then as an atheist evaluate whether the result seems to indicate a "more intelligent" way to approach and solve the problems of current human business systems.
Continue with seeing how this practical application of "the process of creation" (repeating events difference arranging, "God", whichever way of naming it you prefer) that can be observed to be functioning throughout the rest of the universe can be applied to "accomplishing creation in human actions" (solving human problems in the ways identified with "God" by the religions believed in by humans all over the Earth) by examining the other selections in this hypertext computer book.
